The origins of Emerica They date back to 1995 and are closely tied to Etnies. A French shoe company called Rautureau Apple It was acquired by a European conglomerate of companies, which, in turn, was acquired by another North American. Pierre André Senizergues, founder of etnies, designed and distributed his material in the USA under the name etnies America, but lost the license after that acquisition.
Pierre André thus founded, in 1996, another new footwear company, simply shortening the name of etnies America to simply Emerica. All ETNIES footage from late 1995 was carried straight into Emerica's spring 1996 season. That same year, Pierre purchased the etnies license and went ahead with the two companies. Emerica devoted it squarely to Skateboarding and etnies expanded into other action skills.
Emerica is currently one of the industry's most respected pure skate brands as well as its team, consisting of Erick Winkowski, Collin Provost, Spanky, Dakota Servold, John Dickson, Leo Romero, Rob Maatman, Zach Allen, Kevin Baekkel, Victor Aceves, Justin Figueroa, and Jeremy Leabres.
